Cucumber seed oil is expeller-pressed from the seeds of the Cucumis sativus fruit. As an unrefined oil, virgin cucumber seed oil yields a mild characteristic appearance and aroma with naturally high antioxidant, linoleic, and oleic fatty acid content. This plant-based vegan friendly raw material is used in cosmetic and personal care products for its effective emollient properties and easily absorbs into the skin without leaving a greasy feel. Everyday products manufactured with cucumber seed oil include soap, balms, lotions, serums, facial masks, and hair treatments.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
