Organic Extra Virgin Pumpkin Seed Oil is an unrefined oil ranging in color from dark yellow or orange to a rich olive green, carrying a characteristic nutty pumpkin aroma and flavor profile. As with all virgin materials and depending on the region of manufacture, natural variation may occur between each batch or lot produced. Extra virgin pumpkin seed oil, referred to by its botanical name Cucurbita pepo, is cold-pressed extracted from the seeds of the pumpkin, unroasted, and non-GMO. This high quality oil is a preferred culinary or cosmetic ingredient due to its naturally occurring essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamin content. It is commonly used in a wide range of culinary applications such as salad dressings, cooking oil, dipping oil for bread, marinades, or even as a complimentary drizzle on desserts. In the cosmetic world, it’s found in a range of topical products such as skin creams, lotions, balms, and massage oils. Extra virgin pumpkin seed oil has a relatively high level of unsaturated Omega-3 and Omega-6 Fatty Acids which have increased its popularity in the supplement world.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
