Pumpkin seed oil – Refined Organic is cold-pressed extracted from the seeds of the Cucurbita pepo species, yielding an advantageous oil sought-after throughout the personal-care and cosmetic industry. After extraction, this pumpkin seed oil goes through a full refining process to produce a light-yellow oil with a neutral aroma and bland flavor profile. Naturally rich in linoleic, oleic, and palmitic fatty acid content, organic pumpkin seed oil yields beneficial moisturizing and emollient properties procured for skincare formulations and topical products targeting dry or damaged skin. Everyday use products manufactured with pumpkin seed oil include creams, lotions, blended massage oils, and handcrafted soap. Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
