Toasted Virgin Organic Sesame seed oil is a widely procured carrier oil expeller pressed from the Sesamum indicum plant. This unrefined, otherwise known as virgin, toasted organic variety is extracted from sesame seeds after they have been fully toasted. The yielded carrier oil exhibits a relatively dark appearance with a characteristic toasted aroma and flavor profile. Known to be a relatively stable oil, virgin toasted sesame seed oil is advantageous in nutritional supplements, culinary applications including stir frying, dressings, and seasonings, cosmetic and personal-care manufacturing, and industrial applications ranging from insect repellents to coatings. Toasted organic sesame seed oil is naturally rich in omega-6 fatty acid content and comprised mostly of unsaturated fatty acids, praised attributes of plant-based oils.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
