Daikon seed extract is expeller-pressed from the seeds of the daikon radish, Raphanus sativus. It is a clear light-yellow oil exhibiting a minimal characteristic aroma. Daikon seed extract is 100% natural while having a distinctive texture comparable to silicones and emollient esters. This material has a unique composition compared to other seed extracts, comprised of C18, C20, and C22 fatty acids. Daikon seed extract is a preferred raw material due to its ability to absorb well into the skin without leaving an overly greasy residue, a highly desired trait for personal-care formulations. It may be utilized in hair styling gels, conditioners, soaps, lotions, moisturizers, serums, oil cleansers, and hair oils, among a variety of others.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
