Coconut oil is known for its many uses in the food and cosmetic industries. Our Refined Organic Coconut Oil is extracted from the meat of the coconut. Refining removes the typical coconut taste and smell, leaving it as a clean bland product with a whitish color. Due to its high content of saturated fatty acids, primarily Lauric Acid (C12:0), the oil is solid at room temperature and highly resistant to rancidity. Often people refer to this product as 76 degree coconut oil.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
