*Please note when ordering any natural butter, the texture may be altered if the material experiences melting, such as in transit or during processing. The material may be warmed, mixed, and quickly cooled to resolidify into a smoother consistency.

After being extracted from the cacao bean, Natural Cocoa Butter has a rich pleasant chocolate aroma. The appearance is a characteristic pale yellow to light brownish color. Cocoa butter is known for its high oxidative stability, as a result of it being naturally rich in antioxidants and vitamin E. With a typical melting point ranging from 88-95 degrees Fahrenheit, natural cocoa butter is a stiff solid at room temperature. The cosmetic and food industries utilize natural cocoa butter as an ingredient. From a cosmetic and skin care application standpoint, cocoa butter is used for its natural emollient properties and to bring stiffness to the end product.

Jedwards is proud to supply natural cocoa butter produced in a plant that is free of the 8 major allergens: Milk, Tree Nuts, Eggs, Wheat, Fish, Peanuts, Shellfish and Soybeans. Allergen statements are provided upon request.

What is the difference between Virgin and Refined?
Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.

What is the difference between Organic-certified and non-Organic?
QAI is our Organic Certifying Agency. Organic certification verifies that your farm or handling facility—located anywhere in the world—complies with the USDA organic regulations and allows you to sell, label, and represent your products as organic.

What does "deodorized" mean?
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
