Organic Amla oil , commonly referred to as Indian Gooseberry oil, is cold pressed extracted from the fruit of the Emblica officinalis plant. As an unrefined raw material, virgin amla oil exhibits a mild characteristic aroma and flavor profile. Amla oil is gaining traction in the development and formulations of cosmetic and personal-care products, particularly sourced for hair care treatment solutions to nourish and moisturize the scalp and hair follicles. Additional cosmetic applications for virgin organic amla oil include anti-aging serums, facial masks, and daily or nightly topical creams to preserve longevity and elasticity of the skin.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
