Organic sunflower oil is a widely distributed and versatile oil expeller pressed from the seeds of the Helianthus annuus plant. As a fully refined, non-chemically bleached, and deodorized oil, organic sunflower oil yields a clear honey appearance with a neutral aroma and flavor profile. Sunflower oil is highly desired for its naturally high content of linoleic acid, oleic acid, and vitamin E. With a smoke point of around 450°F, organic sunflower oil is an ideal oil for a variety of culinary applications in small- and large-scale food production, restaurants, and at-home cooking. Due to its higher smoke point, it is advantageous in high heat cooking applications such as deep frying, broiling, and sauteing. Other uses include food preparations such as in salad dressings, marinades, and sauces. Outside of culinary applications, organic sunflower oil is procured in the cosmetic and personal-care industry for its natural emollient, moisturizing, and hydrating properties in topical products targeting dry skin or hair.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
