Shark-derived Squalane oil is produced from squalene, an organic compound naturally found in shark liver oil. The hydrogenation process of squalene produces squalane oil, a significantly more stable product that is widely known in the personal-care and cosmetic industry for its emollient properties. Due to its similar chemical makeup as the moisture produced by the human body, it acts as an effective lightweight moisturizer easily absorbed by the skin. Squalane oil is procured by cosmetic formulators for anti-aging products, damaged hair treatments, dry skin remedies, and a wide range of topical serums to nourish and protect against harmful environmental factors.
