Organic Certified Rice Bran oil, also referred to as its botanical name Oryza Sativa bran oil, is cold-pressed extracted from the outer layer of rice called chaff. After the extraction process, the resulting oil goes through refining, non-chemical bleaching, deodorization, and a winterization process to result in a bland oil that is resistant to fractionation when exposed to cold and freezing temperatures. Organic rice bran oil has a high smoke point and an ideal balance of saturated, monounsaturated, and polyunsaturated fats. This natural raw material has become very popular in gummy supplement manufacturing, nutritional capsules for antioxidant properties, as well as a highly sought-after material throughout the food industry for its high smoke point in frying applications.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
