Virgin Organic Neem Oil is cold pressed extracted from the seeds of the neem tree, Azadirachta indica. As an organic certified unrefined oil, its appearance can range from golden yellow to dark green or brown due to natural variation with the starting raw material. Organic Neem oil is trending in cosmetic formulations, soap-making, and personal care manufacturing for its natural Vitamin C content and various potential benefits when applied topically to the skin and scalp. Outside of the personal-care and cosmetic realm, neem oil is used throughout the agricultural industry in farming techniques and applications, providing farmers with a natural and environmentally friendly alternative in various pest and insect management systems. Neem oil is favored for its high content of azadirachtin, a limonoid of the triterpenoid class which can act as an antifeedant, an insect growth regulator, and disrupts mating amongst insects. Neem oil is not intended for consumption.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
