Mustard seed oil, also known as INCI name Sinapis alba oil, is cold pressed extracted from dried mustard seeds, producing a dense yellow liquid with a characteristic potent aroma similar to the mustard condiment. Virgin organic mustard seed oil is naturally high in monounsaturated fat and omega-3 fatty acids and has become a popular additive to topical massage or muscle relief products as well as skin and hair treatments. This mustard seed oil contains less than 2% erucic acid which is important to note when determining your own applications for the oil.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
