Moringa seeds yield around 38-40% edible oil, commonly referred to as ben oil due to its high concentration of behenic acid. Virgin Moringa Oil has a natural characteristic scent, a color ranging from golden-yellow to dark green with a high concentration of Vitamin A and C, unsaturated fatty acids and antioxidants.
Virgin Moringa Oil is an advantageous oil in the personal care and cosmetic industry due to its emollient and skin moisturizing properties. It's a stable raw material with a high resistance to oxidation and is commonly compared to olive oil, although it is considered a much lighter oil. Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
