Microcrystalline Wax Granules are a petroleum-derived material highly beneficial for cosmetic, personal-care, and industrial applications. With a melting point of 67-72°C (152-161°F) and a white to off-white appearance, microcrystalline wax granules are sought after to improve the texture and consistency of topical formulations, notably in hair pomades, body lotions, and creams. A main attribute of this wax is its ability to effectively lock in moisture or protect from moisture, two highly desired properties in manufacturing makeup items such as lipstick, lip balms, eyeliner, and waterproof mascara. In engineering applications, bulk microcrystalline wax is procured to manufacture adhesives, lubricants, and coatings to increase flexibility, thickness, or improve stability of a finished product.
