Jedwards International, Inc. is a wholesale bulk supplier of Krill Oil - NKO™ Softgels.
Krill Oil Softgels are a widely distributed supplement in the health industry realm. Krill oil is a sought-after source for omega-3 fatty acids, providing various nutritional benefits and antioxidant properties. Krill oil is often preferred over other fish oil capsules due to it being known to absorb more readily into the stomach liner and therefore leads to fewer “fish burps” as a side effect. Encapsulated in 500 mg capsules to offer consumers a smaller size with high potency, this wild-harvested marine oil in supplement form is sold under popular brand names via e-commerce and brick-and-mortar health stores.
The Neptune Krill Oil Story
Harvested in the pure, pristine waters of the Antarctic Ocean, Krill Oil - NKO™ is extracted from a tiny, shrimp-like, marine crustacean known as Euphausia Superba (Krill). Krill Oil - NKO™ is one of the cleanest wild sourced omega-3 supplements offered on the market today. Comprised of a unique complex of omega-3 fatty acids, Krill Oil - NKO™ is recognized as a potent and naturally stable omega-3 dietary supplement. Unlike fish oil, the omega-3 in Krill Oil - NKO™ are found in the phospholipid form which are believed to be more easily used by the human body. The phospholipids found in Krill Oil - NKO™ also help to mitigate the unpleasant reflux (“burp back”) and fishy aftertaste consumers often experience with standard fish oil supplements.
Sustainability & the Environment
Krill Oil - NKO™ is produced from krill harvested within strict guidelines established by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources (CCAMLR) to ensure and promote the health and sustainability of the krill population in the Southern Ocean. The “precautionary” approach implemented by CCAMLR mitigates concerns consumers have regarding sustainability of krill as the established annual harvesting quota is less than 1% of the total estimated krill biomass (estimated up to 500 million metric tons). The krill biomass is in the range of two times that of the human biomass, making krill the single largest biomass in the world. The actual krill harvest varies from year to year with a typical season yielding approximately 150,000 tons, which is a marginal percentage (approx. 0.02%) of the total krill biomass. It is a focus of Neptune to only utilize raw materials harvested within the CCAMLR guidelines as we understand the importance of sustainability for krill, as well as the protection of other marine species living in the Antarctic.
What are Phospholipids?
Phospholipids are a unique form of lipids which are critical components to the function of cell membranes. Absorption and utilization of phospholipids by the human body promote cell, tissue, and organ function and health. The omega-3 found in Krill Oil - NKO™ are present in phospholipid form whereas the omega-3 in standard fish oil supplements are found in triglyceride form. The delivery of phospholipid omega-3 throughout the human body occur in their natural state while triglyceride omega-3 from fish oil require further digestion in order to promote absorption. Another resulting benefit of phospholipids found in Krill Oil - NKO™ is the elimination of reflux (“burp back”) and fishy aftertaste which often accompanies most triglyceride based omega-3 fish oil supplements. The unique phospholipid structure present in Krill Oil - NKO makes the oil more polar, allowing for the oil to be more thoroughly incorporated into other stomach fluids. Traditional triglyceride omega-3 fish oils are less polar, therefore believed to sit on top of other stomach fluids, often resulting in an undesirable fishy after taste and reflux (“burp back”).
Astaxanthin
The Astaxanthin found in Neptune Krill Oil is a powerful, naturally occurring antioxidant. Astaxanthin fights oxidation and the development of free radicals in Krill Oil - NKO™ thus resulting in a more stable omega-3 supplement. Other omega-3 sources lack natural antioxidants of this stature, making them prone to oxidation and degradation. The vibrant red appearance of Krill Oil - NKO™ is a direct result of the natural Astaxanthin content.
