Grapefruit seed carrier oil is expeller pressed from the seeds derived from the pulp of grapefruit. This carrier oil is fully refined, resulting in clear light colored material with a bland aroma. Grapefruit seed oil is widely used throughout the cosmetic and personal-care industries in skincare formulations, especially products targeting anti-aging and wrinkle reduction. This unique oil also has vast applications for hair-care, found in a number of topical products used on the scalp and to treat brittle or dry hair.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
