Garlic oil is supercritical CO2 extracted from crushed bulbs of the Allium Sativum plant. This yielded oil exhibits a yellow to orange hue with a powerful characteristic aroma. Bulk garlic oil is procured throughout the culinary and food manufacturing industry with notable use as a flavoring or seasoning agent. This highly concentrated essential oil delivers a strong flavor in dishes and shelf-stable products without requiring more than a few drops, dependent on the end-aroma and flavor desired. Garlic oil is prevalent in formulas for the nutraceutical industry in addition to providing benefits for residential and commercial cleaning products. Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
