Virgin Organic Corn Oil, commonly referred to as Maize Oil, is cold-pressed extracted from the germ of the corn. This 100% natural material is unrefined so the characteristic flavor, aroma and vibrant yellow color are still present. Jedwards' virgin organic corn oil is a favorable choice for many because it is non-GMO and naturally cholesterol-free. It is ideal for frying due to its high smoke point and therefore is very popular within the restaurant and fast-food chain industry. Aside from frying and cooking, virgin organic corn oil is a common ingredient in margarines, soaps and a variety of industrial products.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
