Organic Cassia Oil is a pure essential oil steam-distilled from the sun-dried leaves of the evergreen plant, Cinnamomum cassia, also referred to as Chinese cinnamon. It carries a yellow to red-brown appearance with a characteristic spicy aroma. Cassia oil is of the same botanical family as cinnamon, but described as carrying a more bitter flavor profile. Throughout the food and beverage manufacturing industry, cassia oil is often used as a flavor additive or replacement for cinnamon. Aside from flavoring purposes, cassia oil is used in massage therapy, diluted in a carrier oil and applied topically as a massage oil to create a warm and tingling sensation on the skin.
