Sweet Almond oil is a highly desired raw material for personal-care and cosmetic manufacturing in addition to food and culinary applications. After almond oil is expeller-pressed from the dried kernels of the Prunus dulcis tree, it goes through a complete refining process to yield a bland light-yellow oil with a neutral aroma and flavor profile. With a naturally high content of vitamins and essential fatty acid, sweet almond oil promotes skin elasticity, nourishment, and hair repair and growth, making this a preferred ingredient in topical skincare formulations and hair treatments and serums. As a lightweight oil, it is easily absorbed into the skin, providing moisturizing and hydrating properties. Sweet Almond oil is utilized in lotions, anti-aging creams, facial serums, shampoo, conditioner, massage oils, makeup, and as a carrier oil for aromatherapy. In addition to the cosmetic realm, almond oil can be used as a cooking oil, in baking, and for salad dressings, sauces, and marinades.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
