Bilberry Seed Oil - Virgin
Virgin Bilberry Oil is obtained via supercritical CO2 extraction from the plant Vaccinium myrtillus, a European plant similar to the American blueberry bush. The yielded oil carries a yellow to green appearance and is naturally high in oleic, linoleic, and linolenic omega fatty acid content. Bilberry seed oil is a preferred ingredient in personal-care and cosmetic manufacturing, highly rated among top formulators as one of the superior oils for skincare. Fatty acids derived from seed oils are powerfully hydrating and nourishing to the skin’s barrier. Bilberry seed oil also contains antioxidants that can fight and protect against environmental damage and stressors. This unrefined oil is found in a variety of anti-aging serums, moisturizers, lotions, balms, shampoos, conditioners, among a range of topical skincare applications. Bilberry seed oil has an optimal range of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids that can benefit the human diet when compared to other sources of unsaturated fatty acids, making this ingredient a popular supplement and desired throughout the nutraceutical industry.

Virgin is considered the natural/raw material with the characteristic color, flavor, and aroma. Refining removes these properties so the material is a lighter shade than the virgin material and often times clear, off-white, or white with little-to-no scent or flavor.
Refined, bleached (non-chemical process), deodorized. An "RBDW" product goes through a winterization ("W") process in addition to the RBD process.
Deodorized materials go through a non-chemical, high-vacuum process to reduce their natural aroma. While the aroma is not removed fully, a deodorized product’s aroma is less potent than the natural or unrefined variety.
