Organic babassu oil is extracted from kernels found within the fruit of the babassu tree. Our organic babassu oil undergoes a refining process which results in a clean, soft-solid oil at room temperature with a whitish color. Refining also removes the odor and taste from our organic babassu oil. Due to its high content of saturated fatty acids, primarily Lauric Acid (C12:0), the oil is highly resistant to rancidity. The physical characteristics and uses of organic babassu oil are very similar to that of coconut oil.

This was an amazing product that at first we didn't know how it would be utilized. I make soap and my husband wanted to use this instead of coconut oil, and WHAT A DIFFERENCE. This product makes a better bar with just a slightly higher cost/per bar. I the oil offers a longer work time and a softer feel in the bar. Will order it again!
I was looking for a new semi-soft oil (or butter) to replace the overly greasy feel of cocoa butters in my lotions, spray serums, and body butters? I never imagined babassu oil could live up to the hype i read online. The makeup of this oil is meant to be similar to that of human sebum, and therefore deeply penetrating and quick absorbing, and I'm telling you, it delivers. I thought surely an oil could never be "non oily/greasy" IT IS. Your fingertips are silky-smooth after raw application of this oil, but NOT greasy. It's phenomenal, and the sealed gallon bucket this semi-solid comes in is perfect for this product. I'd almost compare the consistency to coconut oil, but i do not want you to attribute any of the greasy, comodogenic properties of coconut oil to this absolute jewel. It has become my go to for lotions, butters, chapsticks, and even to soften my matte liquid lipstick formula. I feel like i was blindly stabbing in the dark before Jedwards International, I'm ordering more as soon as funds hit our business account. You are incapable of regretting the purchase of babassu oil. Do some research on it, and I am telling you it has exceeded all of our expectations. The melt point is rather low, but it will still resolidify enough to make whipped body butters. This is also great for lip balm, as it melts instantaneously on contact with the sensitive skin of the lips and glides on - making easy dispersal of color, mica, iron oxides, or essential oils like tea tree meant to provide medicinal properties. It melts well with other oils and emulsifying waxes and then again into aloe or purified water based lotions, and will stay thin enough to spray from a spray bottle. IT IS A DREAM PRODUCT. I CANNOT BELIEVE I WENT WITHOUT IT BEFORE. I'm literally furiously writing a review, i feel like I'm trying to convert someone. Haha, but seriously, i hope people continue to buy it so they continue to stock it. I need this stuff forever.
