Tocopherols are prevalent in the human body and naturally occurring in meat, fruit, vegetables, oils, grains, seeds and nuts. D-alpha tocopherols, a form of vitamin E known for its antioxidant properties, are commonly used as a dietary supplement and throughout the cosmetic industry in various personal-care product formulations. Mixed tocopherols are fat soluble antioxidants that naturally resist oxidation, protect flavor, and help prolong the shelf life of food products.
